There’s always plenty of fun to be had in Tucson every day at street level, however on the second Saturday of every month, the city’s fun-loving night life transcends to the rooftops.

Tucson residents and travellers alike gather on the rooftop of the Pennington Street Garage to enjoy some stunning views of the skyline and great entertainment for the 2nd Saturday Downtown Festival.

During this monthly, family-friendly festival, visitors enjoy music by local musicians, beverages by the Borderlands Brewing Company and food from V Modern Thai. This is set against a background of the sunset over the purple mountains as the desert stars start to light the night sky.

However, the venue known as T.O.P. (Top of Pennington) is just a portion of the 2nd Saturday Street Fest. The entire downtown area from Toole Avenue and Congress West to Church Avenue and Congress are abuzz with activity. Local musicians play at various venues, vendors are out in force and the streets are filled with street performers. The excitement in the streets of the downtown district is palpable on 2nd Saturday. No longer is Tucson just another quiet town in the Arizona desert, but instead on the verge of being a cultural hub of exciting night-life.

The upcoming 2nd Saturday Festival on September 14 features local bands Roth D'Lux, Annon and the Late Show and Carolyn Martin, as well as the acrobatic and aerial styling's of Cirque Roots Productions.
