The recently renovated Rundle Bar at Fairmont Banff Springs has been presented with the 2021Canadian Interiors “Best of Canada” award in hospitality for its interior design. The main hotel bar’s $5 million refurbishment was unveiled in July 2020 after a six-month renovation and was designed by Calgary-based FRANK Architecture.
The Rundle Bar boasts a two-storey main bar with custom bronze and wood engraving, a rolling library ladder and double-volume arches that were once part of the original building façade.
One of the original arches serves as the entrance to an expansive speakeasy-style private room that is concealed by bookshelves and floor-to-ceiling doors, while the upper level is home to a dedicated cocktail bar and intimate lounge seating for the perfect après atmosphere.

The Canadian Interiors “Best of Canada” awards have been held for 24 years and celebrate the best products and projects in the design industry. A panel of expert judges reviewed the nominations submitted by interior designers, architects, interior architects, decorators, and crafts persons across Canada, to select the best interior design projects and products in the country.
The Rundle Bar is open daily from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 a.m., serving classic lounge favourites complemented by globally inspired small plate dishes, hand-crafted cocktails, local craft beer and an extensive wine list.
