Think a dreamy beachfront suite in Maui is out of reach? Think again.
You’ll find value-oriented accommodations and plenty of free activities right on-site at Kā‘anapali Beach Hotel.
Location, location, location
Located in the heart of the Kā‘anapali Beach Resort community, within walking distance of an assortment of additional dining, shopping, and entertainment options, Kā‘anapali Beach Hotel offers an affordable oceanfront getaway with authentic Hawaiian hospitality and decor.
During my recent stay at Kā‘anapali Beach Hotel, I marveled at the scenic playground within view of my suite’s spacious lanai. From this furnished balcony, I drank in a panoramic view of the resort property, pool area, a golden beach and ocean waves.
In fact, Kā‘anapali Beach Hotel is the only property on this vacation strip to extend its footprint completely to the beach, even beyond the beach walk promenade. I can see this island retreat as a perfect setting for weddings, vow renewals, and family reunions.
For beach-goers, immediate access to one of the world’s best family beaches is unbeatable. Plus, the hotel supplies extra large plush towels and beach chairs for guests, so all you’ll need is your sunscreen.
During my visit, I stayed in an Oceanfront King Room. I loved that the space reflected an inviting island aesthetic with detailed wood furnishings and local art. I always felt a distinct sense of place.
What makes Kā‘anapali particularly well suited to families - especially guests enjoying Maui with their extended family - is that over 90% of suites are connecting rooms. Various bedding combinations accommodate families of all configurations. And whether you prefer ground floor access to the courtyard and pool or an elevated view of the beachfront, you’ll find the spacious suites to be a comfortable home-away-from-home during your family vacation.
The tropical gardens at Kā‘anapali Beach Hotel include breadfruit trees which are an absolute delight to see up close and in person. Imagine touring your kids around the property, identifying palms, fruit, and exotic local flora. What a great way to spend a morning before hitting the beach.
"Hawaii's Most Hawaiian Hotel"
What makes Kā‘anapali stand out from its neighbouring properties aren't the picture-perfect views or decor, but the total cultural embrace it offers its guests.
The resort boasts an abundance of free cultural and educational activities for the whole family, ranging from lai making to hula lessons, introductory Hawaiian language lessons to bamboo printing. Cultural advisors are happy to offer insight into Hawaiian and Polynesian history and traditions. I really appreciated the opportunity to feel immersed in the local culture during my beach getaway.
Tiki TerraceOne of my favourite amenities at the hotel was definitely the dining options.
Tiki Terrace will no doubt be one of your go-to venues while staying at this island oasis. The breakfast buffet is packed with an incredible variety of regional flavours and local ingredients in hot and cold entrées, with fresh juices, fruits, pastries, and several kid-friendly options.
Come evening, I savoured fresh local seafood while enjoying the nightly entertainment offered at this open-air restaurant.
For even more entertainment, I suggest taking in a luau. It's a Hawaiian tradition that parents and kids alike will love for its combination of island cuisine and cultural celebration.
Pick your adventure: land or sea?
During the day, my time was split between relaxing poolside and digging my toes into the pristine sandy beach out front of the hotel.
With surf schools located on the beach, you’ll find it within reach to take the family out for their first paddle.
Snorkel kit rentals are easily accessible for a few bucks and I highly recommend exploring the coral reefs in front of Black Rock, just a few steps from Kā‘anapali Beach Hotel. Through my mask, I admired schools of tropical fish and colourful coral landscapes. I was mesmerized when a huge Hawaiian sea turtle swam alongside me. It was an experience I'll never forget.
Off-property, Whaler’s Village is a short stroll down the beach walk, offering a pedestrian plaza of boutiques and souvenir shops. Plus, you can take a free shuttle into nearby downtown Lahaina to visit a picturesque waterfront full of galleries and boutiques, and more ocean adventure.
With all these amenities and more, Kā‘anapali Beach Hotel is a family-oriented, value-packed oceanfront property in an unbeatable location.
