You can watch these giant marine mammals and their “unruly” behaviour from the safe confines of a tour boat. While British Columbia boasts the highest killer whale population in the world and the north offers encounters with narwhals, it’s Newfoundland that offers diversity with more than 22 species available for your spotting pleasure. From May to September, belugas, humpbacks, sperm, minkes and pilots display their acrobatic talents. Visit in June and you may be able to catch whales against a backdrop of massive icebergs.
