Lufthansa has announced it will expand its Canadian service in April 2008 with the launch of daily non-stop flights between Calgary and Frankfurt, and again in May 2008 with the start of six-times-a-week service between Toronto and Dusseldorf.
Lufthansa will operate an Airbus A330-300 with a three-cabin configuration on the new Calgary-Frankfurt route, with Lufthansa’s new in-flight personal entertainment screens in Economy Class, its two-metre-long PrivateBed in Business Class, and a premium First Class than includes access to Lufthansa’s renowned First Class Terminal and Lounges in Frankfurt and Munich.
“We’re extremely pleased to soon welcome Calgary as Lufthansa’s fourth Canadian gateway and our 21st city within our growing North American network,” said Jens Bischoff, vice president, the Americas for Lufthansa. “Calgary’s thriving business community – especially the petroleum, hi-tech and agriculture industries, makes it an ideal choice for premium international service. We look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
The new Toronto-Dusseldorf service features a three-cabin configuration aboard an Airbus A340-300, that sees the return of First Class service to the Toronto market.
