A jam-packed line up of summer events awaits travellers who take advantage of Air Canada’s increased seasonal lift from Toronto to Cape Breton Island this summer.

In addition to the airline’s regular 8:10 a.m departure, a new 10:15 p.m. service is now departing Toronto for Sydney every day, making it easier than ever for travellers to sample the island’s colourful history and cuisine during the summer months.

The Fortress of Louisbourg is celebrating its 300th anniversary this summer. The fun kicks off on July 20 with a ‘Louisbourg Celebrates Families’ event, a day of dancing, games, theatre and children’s entertainment. The fortress will then showcase 18th century art and cuisine at ‘CultureFete’ from July 25 to 28, and there’ll be a 12.8 kilometre ‘Race Through Time’ on August 19. Dubbed as ‘the ultimate pop-up dining experience’, world-renowned chefs will be showing off their culinary talents at the annual ‘Right Some Good’ festival. This moveable feast will showcase one-of-a-kind menus using only local ingredients.
