For the first time in history, the legendary Moulin Rouge windmill – a Parisian landmark – will be available to book for an overnight stay via Airbnb at the cost of just €1.

What's the catch?

There are only three, individual one-night stays up for grabs.

The lucky guests will also receive a private tour of the Moulin Rouge, exploring the backstage area, meeting the company’s costume makers, lead dancer (and Airbnb Host) Claudine Van Den Bergh and the show’s cast. Afterward, an apéritif will be served on the romantic rooftop terrace, followed by a three-course Belle Époque dinner prepared by resident Chef Arnaud Demerville. The evening wraps with tickets for the best seats in the house for the Moulin Rouge performance Féerie, a fantasy world of feathers and French opulence, featuring sensational performances, sumptuous sets and original music.

Situated in the heart of Montmartre, the Moulin Rouge is best known as the birthplace of the French Cancan, an energetic performance synonymous with the Belle Époque era.

When recreating the decorative and stylistic details of this celebrated time in history, Airbnb worked with the renowned 19th century French historian, Jean-Claude Yon, to authentically renovate the windmill, exactly as it would have been.

“The Belle Époque era was a time when French culture and arts flourished – and no landmark is more iconic to that period than the Moulin Rouge,” said Yon. “This secret room inside the cabaret’s famous windmill has been designed to take you on an authentic journey back in time to experience the French capital of arts and pleasures during a moment in history.”

Inside the suite, guests will be greeted by an opulent boudoir filled with exquisite art nouveau features. There’s a dressing area stocked with glamorous accessories, including vintage costumes, fragrant perfumes and effusive letters from admirers. Step onto the private rooftop terrace to find an ornate pagoda and garden furniture characteristic of the time period.
